Day 18 - Tuesday Trippin

Weight 182
BP 133/88

Today is my last day of work before my mini Florida vacation (and it is a long one).  I have a lot on my mind and I'm getting excited to get out of town even if it's just for three days.

At lunch time today I went to get my bag of trail mix because I thought it would be a good food item to take with me on the plane and for healthy snacks on my trip.  I had the idea to go to Trader Joe's and buy some granola along with freeze dried dehydrated fruit - blueberries, strawberries and raspberries.  I mixed it all together in a ziploc bag and then added some MnM's to give it a little punch of sweetness and chocolate (allowed by the SDC rules - Woo Hoo!).

These dried fruits are really good.  Taste just like real fruit and they don't have any added sugar or ingredients other than the fruit. I separated the trail mix into several very small bags so that I could ration it and make it last.

My final meal in New Jersey tonight is a bunch of sauteed broccoli rabe greens.  Thank goodness for this one little plan.  It has given me so much and keeps on growing.  Dark leafy greens are fantastic survivor food.

Later tonight I need to pack a bunch of fishing and diving stuff and organise everything I'm going to bring with me on my trip.  My goal is to catch a bunch of Florida snapper type fish that I can eat there and transport home with me in a cooler bag.  Should be interesting - and an awesome time with my dad.  This is definitely a new Survivor Diet situation.  The new environment will be a welcome change with hopefully a variety of foods to explore.  Florida here I come!
