Day 17 DP - Water water everywhere

Wednesday - day off from work.  It wasn't raining early in the morning so I took a quick ride up to the beach to check it out.  Unfortunately, the tide was super high and the water was too rough to fish.  Boy do I hate that.  I have to gear all up in my waders and drive over there just to see that I can't even fish.  I should be able to use the surf webcam to see that before I even decide to go.  It started to rain shortly after that.
I went to the local tackle shop to see if I could get some information about where the heck all the fish are.  Since I can't find them and I can't fish in the storm, maybe I can get some valuable intel.  I talked with the shop owner about bait, lures, locations, etc.  He told me that I should be trying in the Navesink rather than the Shrewsbury river.  It's not too far away so the next time I'm out there I'll give it a try.

Today I ate a bowl of rice that I mixed in with some beans and wild garlic and salt.  My sea salt project turned out rather well.  (I don't know if I mentioned that yet)  I had a bunch of chocolate nibbles - so much for making that last!  It's almost gone completely and I just got it three days ago.  I also had about 10 green leaves from the backyard.

At noon I did my 30 minute radio show recapping week 2 and discussing my problems of late.  I'll be back on schedule this Sunday at noon.

Ironically, SURVIVOR is on tv tonight.  Actually, right now while I'm typing this.  They are on day 30 at this point in the game.  Whenever I watch Survivor I talk about how I would be doing all of these things to find food on the tropical island.  But I have to admit, when the weather kicks your ass, there's not much you can do.  The contestants on the show don't have to work during the week though - they have  a lot more time on their hands.  In contrast, I have a lot more resources at my disposal.  And yet I still can't catch fish or find other food sources.  It just shows me that I haven't been creative enough in my self imposed Survivor Diet.  I need to learn a lot more. . . I need to find a way. . .
